The Domino Effect ” Bringing People Together”

The Weekly Gleaner and RAFFA hosted a reception at their London offices to celebrate IDF Dominoes Festival of Sport 2010-2012 on Thursday, 15th April with support from Jewel Isle Beverages and Grandiosa Hotel, Montego Bay.
The first ever Domino World Cup, was held at the Ocean Hotel, Kingston, Jamaica, 14-18 April 1993 and the first ever Domino Festival was held in London, 1995.
Education and Health-related RAFFA projects in the Caribbean ( Haiti, Montserrat and Jamaica ) are set to benefit from the revival of International Dominoes in England as part of a information, advice and guidance campaign to improve community development. Anita Witter, Frank Kitchen, Noel Williams and George Walters UK Domino Fellowship and Anglo Caribbean Domino Leagues attended to show support for a new era for Dominoes.
Elite, Social, QYD Youth and Womens Teams will be given a boost by a new approach to governance, structure and Tournaments.Dominoes Festival of Sport 2010-2012, will be co-ordinated by IDF in association with accredited organisations. Dominoes Festival of Sport 2010-2012 initiative, aims to encourage the participation of people from diverse ages and backgrounds. Planning has begun for a Domino and Community Development Tour of Jamaica during 2011 and a return invitation to Jamaica Ambassadors Domino Team, July 2012.

This approach to “transforming community services” also provides vital partnership opportunities with local NHS related bodies to ensure that people with diabetes understand their disease and are empowered to live healthier lives”
