Healthy Communities Open Day, COGOP Park Lane, Handsworth, Birmingham, Saturday 17th July, Midday – 9pm, featured Health Promotion, Sports and Cultural Showcase by young people from COGOP Park Lane and Sandwell supported by Bang Foundation to celebrate Mandela International Day.
Ava Johnso, Chair, Park Community Forum, introduced a wide range of programmes to provide information, advice and guidance for reducing mental health inequalities, improving carers lives, support for older people and disability support group.
Football Futures Programme included an introductory coaching sessions by Justin Tyrrell, owner, Soccer Star Coaching, This fun packed day also included an evening of arts & culture.

Inspire peaceful, caring and enterprising neighbourhoods
COGOP and New Testament Church of God ( NTCOG ) Nuneaton announce the launch of “Passing the Baton 2012″ at NTOCG Nuneaton on Wednesday 28th July 2010, inspired by London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Passing the Baton, a social action initiative, reflects the sacred trust, Olympic values and the desire to serve vulnerable people through three inter-locking themes; reducing mental health inequalities, improving carers lives and support for older people.
“Passing the Baton will also support More Than Gold and encourage young people to be active in sports, culture and community development for Healthy Communities”.

COGOP Park Lane Leadership Group agreed to host the 40ft Container for Haiti Renewal Programme. George Brown, Pastor, said: We are pleased that COGOP Park Lane has been able to assist RAFFA’s efforts in Haiti. The humanitarian support is focusing on three categories community development, education and healthcare . The Container will be re-cycled as a community health & wellbeing centre.
