It’s in our hands to create a better world: Mandela Day, July 18 2010

United Nations General Assembly, has declared July 18, Nelson Mandela’s birthday, as Nelson Mandela International Day, an international day of activism. Mandela Day is an annual international day of humanitarian action in celebration of Mr Mandela’s life and legacy. It serves as a catalyst for each and every person to realise that they have the ability to change the world through action. Mandela Day is particularly geared towards people doing work in their communities and contributing to the global movement for good. Nelson Mandela spent 67 years of his life actively devoted to promoting and bringing about social change through peace and reconciliation.

Healthy Communities: London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

2012 Games are inspiring a renewal approach to social, cultural, economic and sporting activities throughout local and international communities. RAFFA has worked with local and international partners across public, private and faith sectors to identify four key legacy benefits:

  • Encouraging Cultural Enterprise

Knowledge Sharing Symposium Success for RAFFA Academy and Redeemed Christian Church of God

UK1000 Voices for Haiti makes donation for Haiti Renewal Programme for Children’s Education

UK 1000 Voices for Haiti Gospel Concert, The Riverside Centre, Derby sponsored by COGOP, LEBARA, GOSFES, GRACE, Monkey Shirleys, Logos PA Systems, RSC Words of Photography, Riverside Community Church and Louise Givans Website Designs.

UK 1000 voices for Haiti, is a community response to the devastating effects brought about by the January 12th earthquake. This national initiative of songs with themes that reflect deliverance, hope, perseverance and pain brings together artists, musicians, worship leaders and choirs from the Faith and Gospel music community.

UK 1000 voices for Haiti, recognises the resilience of the people of Haiti and their willingness to work for their own renewal and long-term development.This initiative will provide financial support for the Haiti Renewal Education Programme and RAFFA Haiti Task Group that is responsible for programme implementation working in partnership with local relief agencies, church leaders and community panels. The team members of Haiti Task Group are practitioners and professionals who are donating services and skills, who have a proven track record of expertise, skills and achievement within their specialism.
