RAFFA and New Testament Church of God, Nuneaton introduced “Passing the Baton 2012” at NTCG Nuneaton, Midlands on Wednesday 28h July 2010, 7pm, inspired by London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Rev.Paul Grey, NTCG Nuneaton, commenced the proceedings with a call to action “ Let us be patient and run the race that is set before us”, followed by a poem by Jackie Latty, Cultural Adviser. Passing the Baton, reflect the sacred trust, Olympic values and the desire to serve vulnerable people through inter-locking themes; reducing mental health inequalities, improving carers lives and support for older people within their local communities.
Rudi Page, CEO, RAFFA, stated, “Passing the Baton is a social action programme for inspiring peaceful, caring and enterprising neighbourhoods”. The programme will also promote Healthy Communities by encouraging young people to be active in sports and culture”.
