Statement from RAFFA International Development Agency in Response to Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica (October 28, 2025).
RAFFA International Development Agency (RAFFA) extends its deepest condolences to the people of Jamaica following the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa on October 28 2025. The scale of destruction—loss of lives, the devastation of livelihoods, and substantial damage to critical infrastructure including airports and hospitals—demands a united and urgent response from the international community, local authorities, and humanitarian partners.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones, those who are injured, and all communities disrupted by this disaster. RAFFA stands in solidarity with the Jamaican people during this profoundly challenging time. We recognise the resilience and spirit of Jamaica, and we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to supporting recovery, relief, and reconstruction.
RAFFA is committed to supporting those who are mobilising resources to support emergency shelters, food assistance, water, sanitation, and medical care for those most in need. We will liaise with local authorities and trusted partners to ensure aid reaches affected communities swiftly and equitably.
We welcome donations and in-kind support from organisations, groups and faith-based communities that wish to contribute to Jamaica’s relief and recovery efforts.
